About the weekend!

Hello again!

We've had a really busy weekend, with lots of cool stuff done, seen some beautiful scenery and had lots of good food!

On Friday Louis brought us to Marie-Louise. After a cup of coffee took off to Raglan with Marie-Louise. A 45 minute drive (which is quite short for NZ matters) took us into the beautiful town of Raglan. First off we went to have lunch at a bakery. We all took a delicious burger and we walked up to the beach where we ate it. The scenery was absolutely beautiful!! The water had such a nice blue color and the sun was shining. After we finished our burgers we went to some lookout-points where we saw the harbour of Raglan from different angles. We were absolutely amazed by the beautiful views we saw there! Then we headed to a friend of Marie-Louise. In the evening we did a boat tour through the harbour and got to see the sunset on the water! So cool! After the tour we headed back home.

Saturday we woke up early and took off to go to Taupo. Just over an hour into the drive, Marie-Louise noticed that we had taken the wrong way, and therefore we had to drive back. All together we drove approximately 1,5 hours too much before we arrived in Taupo haha. In Taupo we first went to the Huka falls, which was so stunning to see! The waterfall was so massive! Then we had lunch at the prawn farm, which was good but hell expensive! After lunch we went on the Jet Boat. This was so cool!! The driver/sailor/whatever its called guy was really good at the high speed sailing! He did some 360 turns and went very close to the cliffs and trees! We sailed up to the Huka falls and got very close! It was incredible to see the falls from such a close point of view! After the Jet Boat we went into the centre of Taupo, looked at the shops and had a afternoon tea. Then we had to go back home again to have dinner at Angela and Gary's.

On Sunday Rick joined us and we went to Rotorua. In Rotorua we went something called Te Puia, which is like a park where the geisers and mudpools are, as well as a Maori show. We attended the Maori show, which was really cool to see, and afterwards we got a guided tour alongside the mudpools and geisers of the park. After we finished the Te Puia thing we got to the Gondola and went up the hill to do some Luge rides. Luge is like a kart and you can rush down the hill on different tracks. It was real fun to do! Then we headed back to the center again and had dinner at a real fancy restaurant. Sterre and I had a massive 250grams burger, which tasted gooooodd! When we finished dinner we went back home again.

On Monday Marie-Louise dropped us off at Richard's to go water-skiing. We went to the Arapuni lake and got ourselves ready to go out on the lake. Richard had three things to go on behind the boat: the biscuit, the knee boards and the real ski's. We both did the biscuit once, but it was quite hard to hold on to. Then I also tried the knee board, but it was even harder and I fell off immediately haha! In the evening we went to Anna's house and got ourselves booked trips to Wellington and the Bay of Islands!

On Tuesday and Wednesday we did absolutely nothing but rest, which wasn't that bad as the temperature outside reached 30 degrees, pfff.

The upcoming days we will be with Willie, and we will let you know soon how that was!

See ya!
